I can also suggest mentor texts – published books – that you could study to help you with your piece or writing craft books that might push you through your obstacles!

After an introductory email explaining your project and question, we can either have an hour phone call followed by one closing email exchange or we can have an e-conversation with up to five email exchanges.

I’ll read your manuscript – poetry, middle grade, young adult, nonfiction – and prepare constructive feedback in the form of in-line editing and notes and an editorial letter focused on highlighting where your writing is strongest and suggesting changes and ideas to move your project forward.

Are you looking for someone to check photo availability at a historical society? What about reviewing archives? Or vetting your secondary sources (sometimes called a literature review). I’m available for a variety of research tasks and support.

I’ve done vast amounts of primary archival research for my own projects and as an assistant for historical preservation projects. I’m a trained historian with a PhD in American history and an MFA in Creative Writing for Children and Young Adults and versed in both MLA and Chicago Manual of Style as style guides.

Development Plan
I will work with key staff members to develop an annual development plan for annual fund, including major giving and stewardship activities with action steps for staff and a timeline for implementation. $100/Hour
